Another Led Zeppelin Reunion Tour Rumor Surfaces
Rumors of a Led Zeppelin reunion tour just won't go away. According to Britain's "Mirror," guitarist Jimmy Page and bassist-keyboardist John Paul Jones, who had always been in favor of such a trek, have finally been able to sell singer Robert Plant on the idea. Whitesnake frontman David Coverdale also reportedly told the newspaper he thinks a Zeppelin tour is, quote, "very likely," adding that he's expecting Whitesnake to get the nod to serve as the opener. While Coverdale and company don't typically take second billing the singer said his band would absolutely accept the offer, noting that he believes the tour would be on track to become one of the most lucrative ever. The "Mirror" also cites an unnamed source who says the Zeppelin reunion tour would begin at the end of this year or in early 2009. There has been no official word of a tour from anyone associated with Led Zeppelin. While Page and Jones had expressed a desire to continue after the band's reunion show in London last December Plant has previously rejected the notion, noting that he's more interested in his collaboration with bluegrass star Alison Krauss. The two are currently on the road in Europe supporting their album "Raising Sand." They'll be performing in Paris tonight.
