Beck Discusses "Modern" Release
Beck says he is feeling exhausted but proud after completing his most recent album. He tells RollingStone.com that this was the most intensive work he's ever done a record, essentially condensing two years of songwriting into a two-and-a-half month period. Beck says he worked ten weeks straight with no days off, often staying up until four or five in the morning. Gnarls Barkley's Danger Mouse produced the disc, which currently carries the working title "Modern Guilt." The disc features Beck and Danger Mouse playing a majority of the instruments, though frequent Beck drummer Joey Waronker appears on "Chem Trails" and Cat Power lends backing vocals to a few songs including "Walls." The album also features the title track plus an upbeat song called "Beggars Shoes." While "Modern Guilt" is the working title, no official moniker or release date has been set for the album. |
