Fighting Fatigue: Why so tired? By: Jonathan Bille |
| |
Fatigue is something that everyone will experience at some point in their life, and can range from an occasional feeling of being tired all the way to a debilitating exhaustion making a normal life almost impossible.
Fatigue, in it self is not a condition, but rather the symptom of some other problem. Minor fatigue manifested by a lack of energy may be caused by something as simple as depression whereas as major fatigue may be the symptom of a much more serious health condition such as cancer or diabetes.
Very often fatigue is simply caused by poor health habits such as a bad diet and stress. Also, the chronic use of substances such as alcohol, caffeine, and tobacco can rob the body of energy, causing a state of fatigue.
If you suspect that your fatigue is the result of lifestyle rather than an existing health condition, consider trying some of the following to inject a little more energy into your step.
· Increase your intake of fruits and vegetables.
· Reduce your amount of red meat and introduce more white fish into your diet.
· Reduce your use of products containing alcohol, caffeine, sugar and fats.
· Exercise regularly. If you don’t already exercise on a daily basis, try walking a few miles everyday. It will not only help to get your energy levels up but will also help control your weight.
· If you feel you need a little more, try supplementing your diet with a multivitamin as well as vitamin C and B complex.
· Other products such as spirulina and ginseng can also help to raise energy levels in most people.
If you believe that your fatigue is the result of something more serious, you should seek medical help immediately. Because fatigue can be an early symptom of serious health conditions you shouldn’t wait to discover the cause.
Your fatigue may be nothing more than the result of too little sleep or too much stress, but it could be something much more serious, so don’t hesitate to see a medical professional to end your fatigue.
