People are living much longer these days and one of the reasons is that more and more people are becoming health conscience. Healthy eating and diet changes seem to be a highly important topic lately, and a great way to reduce the chances of health problems.
Doctors are ordering exercise as a part of their patients' daily routines. For more information on a healthy daily exercise regimen, read below...
Persons of all ages should include physical activity in their lives to promote health and prevent disease. They should increase their habitual physical activity to a level appropriate to their capacities, needs and interests.
The funny thing about exercising is that you may be doing it and not even realize that you are. There are several low-impact activities that you may be doing during the day. If you're not yet doing them, you may want to consider them for a healthier life. Here are a few:
• Walking for pleasure • Gardening • Housework • Dancing • Yard work
There are also higher intensity exercises that, again, you may be doing but not recognizing. Health care officials recommend that these be done three to six times weekly and for 30 - 60 minutes at a time. Some of these activities include:
• Brisk walking • Hiking • Stair-climbing • Running • Bicycling
Any way you look at it, exercise is becoming a vital part of today's healthier lifestyle. Some of us may not be motivated enough to start a daily routine, but as you've read above, we may be doing it already. The key is to focus in on these activities and try to slowly increase the number of times per week you're doing them as well as the duration. Good luck and think healthy.
